Hotline for Business?

I found a Press Release which I think is helpful for all internet business owners. I don't know yet the whole coverage aside from Arizona, United States that this business hot line can cover but very interested how this works.
I found this interesting and helpful but there are some issues to be considered. One is the reliability of the answers that the callers will be getting from them. Over the hotline, we don't know who we are talking to - their business credibility - and things like that. What do you think about this?

Business like Other Aspects of Life is an Ecosystem!

Well, if you are like me dreaming of starting your online business then I believe you should begin getting involved to communities that will help you get that web and social presence you need. This is part of growing a social network which proves the cliché saying – “No Man is an Island”.

As an aspiring internet business enthusiast, I’m calling to myself and fellow internet business dreamers to be active in the Internet community and e-commerce clubs as well. Just last week, I am glad to be invited by Ms. Janette Toral in DigitalFilipino.Com Club to join a networking event which I attended the other night, October 21, 2008 at Grand Regal Hotel.

It was indeed a fun-filled experience and I am very grateful to have met hundreds of bloggers and entrepreneurs in the venue. Way back my college years, socializing is not my business and I almost labeled myself as an aloof person who’s just contented in the corner in her very own comfort zone. Well, worse maybe others labeled me that way already but I tell you, I no longer am. Just as my motivation always says – “The greatest amount of wasted time is the time not getting started!”

Well, I’m happy to share to you some of the photos I had with the other bloggers in town during this DigitalFilipino.Com Club – Social Networking Event.

Thousands of Dollars for a Domain Name?

Wendy Kennedy from Small Business Trends have written this interesting article about the guts of some people who are very much willing to pay thousands of dollars for a domain name.

It’s not cliche to say that today every dollar counts. Times are tight — for some, times are very tight — and business owners across the country are looking at every dollar they spend to make sure they are getting the return they need from the money they invest.
So why then, in times such as these, would anyone be willing to pay thousands of dollars for a simple domain name? The answer is easy: because those simple domains (often called premium domains) can make a difference.
THE AGE OF THE PREMIUM DOMAIN
A premium domain is a domain that has been registered previously and is back on the market for resale (it’s like a used car lot for domain names … but these items have not depreciated in value — in fact, it’s quite the opposite situation).
You see, today there are about 76 million dot com names registered worldwide. That means the chances of finding a very intrinsic dot com (shopping.com, flowers.com) are slim. These names were snapped up years ago but now, these early domain registrants are increasingly willing to part with their prized domain names for the right price. Some of these sales live in infamy (consider Pizza.com that sold for $2.6 million in 2008 or Business.com that sold for $7.5 million in 1999) but the average premium domain price tag ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
So what can a Premium Domain Name do for our internet business? Well, you have to read more on Wendy's article - Why Would Anyone Pay Thousands for a Domain Name?

Why not stick to the side you’re on right now?

According to The Economic Times, It's trendier and easier to build your own Start Up. In spite of the financial crisis in U.S., do you think it is still trendy and easy to venture in business start ups?

Many individuals consider themselves ‘born entrepreneurs’. They may work regular jobs and earn monthly pay checks but deep down, believe that they have what it takes to strike gold some day. Add to this the fact that today, it’s trendier, easier and infinitely more desirable to build your own start up.

No surprisingly, more people with bright ideas and an independent streak are now quitting their jobs to be the kings—or queens—of their own domain. But then not everyone makes it. In the corporate jungle, an alarming majority of startups, even those with a great business proposition, get mauled by high operational costs, lack of skilled manpower and market fluctuations.

In such a situation, some find it comforting to put their entrepreneurial urge to use while staying on with their employers. Enter the ‘Intrapreneurs’ who combine the best of both worlds: a secure job that comes with the freedom to innovate, sans the risk. They also raise an interesting question: Even if the grass is greener on the other side, why not stick to the side you’re on right now?
